Description: Course objectives include:
- Social location explanation and exercise for all attendees to help ground in understanding of the different ways how we show up in our work as clinicians, and administrative staff
- Power dynamic in the therapeutic work and non-clinical work

- Definition (Crenshaw), individual understanding about race, culture, and diversity
- Exercise to identify our own intersectionality's
- Racial trauma and minority stress
- Definition and overview of racial trauma, impact, how does it affect individuals and groups
- Definition and overview of minority stress, impact and how it affects individuals and groups
- Practicing understanding and learning through case studies of clients and clinicians
- Case example through the clinician's lens: involuntary commitment
- Case example through the client's and clinician's lens: language access
- Vicarious trauma
- Defining vicarious trauma
- Learning to understand the impact of vicarious trauma on the professional and on our work with our team, clients, and community members
