Description:   Students with and without disabilities may engage in problematic behaviors which interfere with learning. Participants will learn how to recognize the factors that may contribute to episodes of problem behavior and identify appropriate strategies to prevent episodes from happening in the future.

Learning Objectives:

  • Provide an overview of behavioral framework for understanding problematic behavior
  • Learn how to analyze episodes of high-risk behavior and develop strategies to prevent and manage future occurrences
  • Learn how to identify critical skills to teach individuals so they can better communicate their needs
  • Through group activities, practice how to develop effective prevention, teaching and reactive strategies for significant behaviors
