Suicide Prevention:  Working with Adolescents
Presenter:  Brian McGinley, LSW
 
This interactive, virtual session will focus on suicide prevention for adolescents and what we can do to recognize and support adolescents who are struggling.  The session will examine warning signs and indicators of the suicidal adolescent as well as protective factors and coping strategies.  Focus and discussion will also be on how therapists/counselors can work with schools to support students.  A brief review of what schools are doing in Chester County will also be presented.  Case studies, videos, lecture, discussions and small breakout room activities will all be utilized as teaching methods.  Participants will be able to identify risk factors, warning signs, protective factors and ways to support the suicidal adolescent.
